Hannah played the critical role of Baby Jesus in Mission: Possible’s His-Story Presentation last week! “A daring role for such a young actress,” a friend in the business told me. : )

~ Exhales a sigh of relief when you pick her up or do something else she’s been trying to ask you for

Wow! The Christmas season came and went and all of a sudden it’s 2009! Here are a few pics of the fun we’ve been having:

Early December, Benjamin and I drove to The Elgin Christmas Tree Farm with his parents to cut down the perfect (small) pine tree. We ended up being able to stuff our little tree and their big tree INSIDE our Element for the ride home! Ah, memories : )

camels

This shot of wise guys and camels represents 5 nights of declaring The Creator’s Story! Mission: Possible!’s “His-Story” production was such an amazing way to spend the days before Christmas. Folks from all over Austin came to hear the greatest story ever told.

The last night of His-Story (Sunday, Dec. 21st) was a chilly one! Ben ran the spot light, helped with set-up, sound, and lighting, and I was the stage manager, wardrobe supervisor, animal coordinator… resident crazy person : )

naomi

Here I am with our youngest actress Naomi, keeping warm before her big debut… she ran out with her brother to hug Jesus during a scene about his ministry.

Here is our Penny with her first Christmas gift!

This raw-hide candy cane was Penny’s fave on Christmas morning.

At my parent’s house, Ben and I made married Gingerbread people… notice the “bling” on the left hands please! : )

I spent much of the break with my sewing machine, creating warm fuzzy fleece Christmas blankets, Nativity pillows, and quilted pillow shams for the fam. Here are Isaac and Jessica (Newly ENGAGED!!!!) snuggling with theirs. They’ll be married this March!

Don't miss it!

His-Story

If you missed the opening night of His-Story, make plans now to attend tomorrow night (Friday), or Saturday night! Each show lasts only about 20 minutes – You can arrive, enjoy the show, stuff a cookie in your mouth, and drink your hot chocolate on the way back to the car in half an hour if your busy Christmas party schedule demands it! : )

Tonight, you missed:

A fog storm (Cheryl got carried away with the fog machine on the first show)

A goat in the manger (don’t worry- Mary had the baby Jesus)

Expert narration by none other than Tim Pinson Jr. (himself)

Phenomenal acting debuts by several talented cast members

History – literally. Our first of many presentations of the greatest story ever told.

Come! There are sure to be more adventures Friday and Saturday from 6-8pm at 12th & Chicon. Be sure to bring your friends, family, and whoever else you can fit in the car : )

Whew!

The last few days have been a whirlwind of details, phone calls, emails, scribbled notes, errands, tears, and prayers in prep for the true story of The Creator who came as a babe so poor and mild that even we can relate to His life and character.

We knew at Mission: Possible! when we decided to obey what The Spirit was leading us to do in changing our Christmas plans “late in the game,” that this would be a crazy ride towards a grand finale of awe of what God had done. Even now, 48 hours before dress rehearsal – my heart jumps at the thought of how He might speak to the hearts of souls who come.

My Abba used 6 different ladies today to bless my heart – these women stepped in to scoop up a chunk of preparation tasks that I could just not get done on my own. I began the day in a panic with the details and tasks looming before me, undone. One sister dedicated her whole day to costuming and design, and another met us at JoAnn’s to share the load and help dream up some sweet angel costumes.

One sweet friend listened – really LISTENED to my overwhelmed rambling and offered a hand where I most needed it, but was blind to. Another has been working for weeks on other costume details after helping me make sense of the pieces I had. Another took on a financial burden which lifted a production cost load, and enabled us to purchase the wood chips we needed. And although busy herself, another friend made phone calls to arrange the materials that were essential for the set floor.

God has been so gracious to me, as I stumble to serve Him. Thank you so much to each of you who are pouring your hearts out for us in prayer, and pouring your love out on us in partnership. It is thrilling to work together for His Kingdom!

Happy Friday friends : )

12 days until opening night! If you have not invited someone to come yet, please think of 2 or 3 other families or friends that you can bring to witness the life of Jesus Christ!

By the way, we still need at least 4 grown men to fill in some critical casting spots. No lines to worry about! The entire story is narrated. These key characters: The Angel Gabriel, The Inn Keeper, and shepherds – need only put on the costume we have for you, and be available Dec. 19 – 22 for rehearsal and productions from 6-8pm. Help us complete God’s cast!!

This Saturday (tomorrow, the 8th) will be an exciting time. It’s our last official work day before our dress rehearsal with cast and crew on Dec. 19th. We’ve been working feverishly and prayerfully on every area of the production. If you drive by 12th & Chicon today, you’ll see four 12 ft. canvases painted with Bible-times landscaping and rocks on either side of our metal bus barn. You’ll see an inn – waiting for paint, a tomb of beat up styrofoam “rocks” – just missing some detail, and a large cross made of Cedar – waiting to be mounted. You’ll see shiny silver poles (newly planted in the asphalt), working together to eventually form a viewing fence, and colorful Christmas lights lining the property.

Tomorrow will complete many steps toward being ready to share this true story. Join us from 9am- 4pm or any time in-between. Email me at cheryl@MPAustin.org or comment here if you have any questions. Please pray for safety and efficiency for all involved. See you there!

Praise God with us!!

Dear friends and family – we had an accident during our His-Story work day on Saturday. Tim Jr. was up on a 12 ft. ladder, attaching some of our canvas backdrop to a cable when his ladder slid out from underneath him. Tim landed on his arms and face onto the parking lot asphalt.

The Scott and White ER in Round Rock (miraculously) took him in right away. After feeling and examining his arms, the doctor determined that both his forearms were broken – definitely. However, after X-rays, he returned in bewilderment to inform the Pinsons that there were no breaks or fractures shown. It seemed impossible to him!

I later found out that the very doctor they saw has family who is already part of the Mission: Possible! prayer/support team. What an interesting way for God to show himself…

Tim Jr. is now home recovering with his sweet wife Rachael and 4 little ones. (5, 4, almost 2, and 8 mos.) Praise God that Tim was spared broken bones (or worse)!! Please pray with us that Tim will recover quickly, that Rachael will be given what she needs to take care of their family, and that The Almighty will complete all the details for His-Story (in 17 days) despite these set-backs. We are so thankful that our brother Tim is whole and on the mend.

His-Story Count Down!!

25 days until the opening night of His-Story! (December 20th @ 6pm)

showimage.jpg

There are still sooo many pieces to be put into place: set construction (Dec. 1st & 8th), backdrop painting, costume creation, cast designation (males needed!), Christmas decoration, rehearsal, electric set-up… keep spreading the word! God Almighty is rallying His people to tell His Story in Austin, TX.

My favorite aspect of this presentation is that it will include the end of the story – the purpose for which the Christ child came. We will connect the dots of a divine plot line which loses so much when chopped up and celebrated in pieces.

Please be in prayer about the souls from all over Austin who will attend this event at 12th street & Chicon. Pray for dry weather, divine protection and physical safety for all, and for the movement and work of The Spirit. May His kingdom come, and His will be done – here on Earth, in East Austin, as it is in Heaven.
